Believe

October 16, 2010, at the age of 18, I was told that I had a 3% chance to feel or moveanything below my neck… My world was turned upside down. I was at the pinnacle of myathletic career playing college football as a freshman and I just had the taste (8 weeks)of an independent life at college. One football play changed everything for me.

Believing in yourself is a choice and I made up my mind… “I CAN and I WILL do this.”

I was scared but I believed in myself. If I did not believe in myself I would have fell in ahole of despair and sadness with no hope or way out. Without beliving in yourself you won’tbe able to have happiness or success.

Believing in yourself is a choice and I made up my mind. The percentages went in one earand out the other. You dictate your own percentages. Not anyone else in the world.Just you and God. I told myself, “I CAN and I WILL do this.”Hours after my surgery I shrugged my left shoulder…beating the odds.

Your mind and willpower will create your reality. You know what all the mostsuccessful athletes and individuals have? An unwavering belief in themselves.

TAKE ACTION: Look yourself in the mirror and tell yourself every single morning,“I CAN and I WILL” over 10 times. Over the next few days and weeks of doing this youwill start to feel a greater belief in yourself.

Don‘t let other people discourage you and don’t discourage other people. Hope is so powerful. There will be people who don‘t believe in you or what you are doing. That’s ok.Just believe in yourself and be sure to offer hope to others.

TAKE ACTION: Take time today to offer hope to someone who you thinkcould really use encouragement.

Now that you BELIEVE in yourself, next week we will learn how to setour DREAM and why you should literally go for your dreams.
